The Toronto Sign is an illuminated three-dimensional sign in Nathan Phillips Square that spells the city's name. It is 3 metres tall and 22 metres long, lit by LED lights that can create an estimated 228 million colour combinations. Originally installed for the 2015 Pan American Games as a temporary attraction, it became so popular with tourists and residents that the city decided to keep it.

The sign was installed for the 2015 Pan American Games and was meant to be dismantled in November 2016 at the earliest. After it became popular, the city decided to keep it. By June 2016, it had appeared in an estimated 120 million photographs on social media. A 3D maple leaf was added in December 2016 for Canada's 150th anniversary, and a 3D medicine wheel was added in 2018 for National Indigenous Peoples Day. The sign was replaced with a permanent version unveiled on September 18, 2020.
