Jogyesa

조계사는 한국 최대 불교 종파인 조계종의 총본산입니다. 1910년에 창건되었으며, 한국 불교의 정신적 중심지 역할을 합니다. 경내에는 500년 된 백송과 100년 된 회화나무가 있습니다. 대웅전 안에는 세 개의 큰 금불상이 있습니다. 부처님 오신 날에는 수천 개의 화려한 연등이 사찰을 장식합니다. 도심 속에서 고요한 휴식을 제공하는 곳입니다.

역사 이야기

The temple was first established in 1395 at the dawn of the Joseon period. During Japanese colonial rule, it became a fortress of resistance against efforts to suppress Korean Buddhism. The modern temple was founded in 1910 as Gakhwangsa, renamed Taegosa in 1938, and then Jogyesa in 1954 when it became the main temple of the Jogye Order.
