Un po' di storia

The Mint Museum opened in 1971 within the former guesthouse of the Osaka Mint Bureau, built in 1911. The Mint Bureau itself was established in 1871 to modernize Japan's currency system. The museum's collection began with items donated by the Mint's directors and has grown through acquisitions.
