The Great Sphinx of Giza is one of the world's largest and oldest statues, carved directly from the bedrock of the Giza Plateau. This enigmatic figure, with the body of a lion and a human head believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre, has watched over the pyramids for over 4,500 years. Visitors can walk around the Sphinx enclosure, viewing it from multiple angles, and marvel at its sheer scale and the mystery of its missing nose. The Sphinx is best seen in the early morning or late afternoon when the light casts dramatic shadows across its weathered face.
