The Henan Museum in Zhengzhou is a history and archaeology museum with a collection of more than 130,000 cultural relics, including prehistoric artifacts, Shang and Zhou dynasty bronzes, and pottery from various Chinese dynasties. It also houses natural history relics like dinosaur bones and fossils. The current pyramid-shaped building opened in 1997 and covers over 100,000 square feet.

Un po' di storia

Founded in 1927 by General Feng Yuxiang, the museum is one of the oldest in China. It moved from Kaifeng to Zhengzhou in 1961 and reopened in its current building in 1999. During the Japanese invasion in 1937, key relics were moved to Chongqing; later, in 1948, many artifacts were shipped to Taiwan, forming part of the National Museum of History in Taipei.
