Century Park is a sprawling green oasis in the heart of Shanghai's Pudong district, covering 140 hectares. Designed as a British-style landscape garden, it features large lawns, meandering paths, and a central lake where visitors can rent paddle boats. The park is divided into several themed areas, including a children's playground, a bird sanctuary, and a sensory garden. It's a popular spot for locals to fly kites, picnic, or simply relax away from the city's hustle. The park's size means it never feels crowded, even on weekends. Distinctive features include a 1,000-meter-long avenue lined with cherry blossoms (best in spring) and a large greenhouse with exotic plants. Unlike Shanghai's more manicured gardens, Century Park feels wilder and more open, offering a true escape. It's also home to the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum's satellite observatory.
