Les Mots écrits de New Bell is a site-specific public art project that inscribes words and phrases onto walls, buildings, and streets in the vibrant New Bell neighborhood of Douala. Created by French artist Barthélémy Toguo, the installation uses language as a medium to engage residents and passersby, reflecting local stories, aspirations, and social commentary. Visitors can walk through the area to discover the texts, which blend into the everyday life of the bustling district, offering a unique fusion of contemporary art and urban culture.
