Il Monte Son Tra, noto anche come Monkey Mountain, è una rigogliosa penisola che si protende nel Mar Cinese Orientale, a nord-est di Da Nang. Un po' di storia
The mountain was the location of the Monkey Mountain Facility, a United States military communications facility during the Vietnam War. Its position near Da Nang Air Base and Marble Mountain Air Facility also made it the site of several wartime aircraft crashes. A 1968 F-8 Crusader crash left part of the aircraft's rear fuselage embedded in the mountain. On Yet Kieu Road, Y Pha Nho Cemetery preserves the graves of French and Spanish soldiers who died during the Franco-Spanish expedition of 1858–1860; the cemetery was inaugurated in 1898.
