Hotel Majapahit is a historic hotel in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, opened in 1911. It is managed by Accor through its MGallery chain. The hotel features an Art Deco lobby extension added in 1930 and is recognized as a cultural heritage landmark.

A bit of history
The hotel opened in 1911 as Hotel Oranje, designed by Regent Alfred John Bidwell for the Sarkies family. During the Japanese occupation (1942–1945) it was renamed Hotel Yamato and served as the Japanese headquarters in East Java. On 19 September 1945, Indonesian youth revolutionaries tore the blue stripe from a Dutch flag flown above the hotel, changing it to the red-and-white Indonesian flag,an event known as the Hotel Yamato Incident. After that, it was renamed Hotel Merdeka. In 1969 it became Hotel Majapahit, after the Majapahit kingdom. It was bought by CCM Group in 2006 and became Hotel Majapahit again. In 2014 it was officially recognized as a cultural heritage landmark.
