Mazar-E-Quaid

Mazar-e-Quaid is the iconic final resting place of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, located in the heart of Karachi. The mausoleum is a striking white marble structure with a distinctive curved roof and a massive chandelier gifted by China. Set within a large, well-maintained park, the site exudes solemnity and national pride. Visitors walk through manicured gardens to reach the tomb, which is surrounded by a reflecting pool. Inside, the cenotaph is draped in a floral wreath, and the walls are inscribed with Jinnah's famous quotes. The atmosphere is reverent, with guards standing at attention. קצת היסטוריה

Construction of the mausoleum began in 1960 and was completed in 1971. Designed by architect Yahya Merchant, it replaced an earlier temporary tomb. Jinnah's sister, Fatima Jinnah, and former Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan are also buried here.
