Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan, located on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, is one of Malaysia's most impressive contemporary mosques. Completed in 2000, it features a distinctive 50-meter-wide blue dome and four minarets, blending Ottoman and Malay architectural styles. The mosque can accommodate up to 17,000 worshippers and is set within beautifully landscaped gardens with fountains and reflecting pools. Visitors are struck by the peaceful ambiance, especially during non-prayer times. The interior is adorned with intricate calligraphy, marble floors, and stained glass. Unlike the more touristy Masjid Negara, this mosque offers a quieter, more contemplative experience. Non-Muslims are welcome to visit outside prayer hours, and robes are provided.
