Ford's Theatre is both a historic site and a live performance venue, known as the place where John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln in 1865. Visitors can tour the theatre, see the presidential box preserved as it was that night, and explore the museum in the basement with artifacts like Booth's derringer pistol. Across the street, the Petersen House, where Lincoln died, is also part of the site. Today, the theatre hosts plays and educational programs, keeping its history alive.
