Faulhorn is a 2,681-meter summit in the Bernese Alps, known for its sweeping views of the Jungfrau, Eiger, Mönch, and the lakes of Brienz and Thun. At the top sits the historic Faulhorn Hotel, one of the oldest mountain hotels in Switzerland, built in 1830. The summit is a popular hiking destination, accessible via trails from Grosse Scheidegg or the Schynige Platte. The hike is moderately challenging but rewards with 360-degree vistas. The hotel offers simple accommodation and food, making it a great spot for an overnight stay to catch sunrise or sunset. The area is also known for its alpine flora and the chance to see ibex or marmots. Faulhorn provides a classic Swiss alpine experience without the crowds of higher peaks.
