Ein Stück Geschichte
The museum was founded in 1914 by Émile Licent as the Hoangho Paiho Museum. Licent spent 25 years exploring the Yellow River and Haihe River basins, collecting over 200,000 specimens. The museum was later renamed the Northern Border Museum, hosted by Tianjin University, and after several mergers and name changes, it became the Tianjin Natural Museum. It moved to its current site in the Tianjin Cultural Center in 2014.
