Bo're Temple (Shenyang)

Bo're Temple is a Buddhist Bhikkhuni temple in Shenyang's Shenhe District. It covers about 1,000 square meters, with temple lands, forests, and mountains totaling over 3,600 square meters. The temple faces south and has two courtyards, with halls including the Hall of Four Heavenly Kings, Mahavira Hall, and Buddhist Texts Library.

Ein Stück Geschichte

The temple was first established by monk Shi Gulin in 1684 during the Qing dynasty. It was rebuilt in 1909 and 1924. During the Cultural Revolution, parts were slightly damaged by Red Guards. In 1983 it was named a National Key Buddhist Temple, and it became a provincial cultural heritage site in 2015.
