The Former Residence of Cai Yuanpei is the birthplace of the Chinese educator and Peking University president. It was built by his grandfather during the Qing dynasty and covers about 1,004 square meters. You can see the main hall, gate, and reception hall.

A bit of history
The residence was built by Cai Jiamo, Cai Yuanpei's grandfather, during the reign of the Daoguang Emperor (1821–1850). Cai Yuanpei was born here on 11 January 1868. In 2011, it was listed as a State Cultural Protection Relics Unit.
