Tash Gozar, meaning 'stone crossing,' is an ancient ford made of large stone blocks spanning the Surkhandarya River near Termez. This crossing was used for centuries by caravans traveling the Silk Road. Today, visitors can see the worn stones and imagine the passage of traders and travelers. The site is partially submerged during high water, but in dry seasons the stones are fully exposed. It's a quiet, evocative spot with a palpable sense of history.

Don't miss

  • Walk across the ancient stone blocks of the ford
  • Look for carved marks or inscriptions on the stones
  • Enjoy the riverside setting and listen to the flowing water
