Punta Colorada is a striking rocky promontory just east of Piriápolis, crowned by a iconic red-and-white striped lighthouse that has guided ships since the late 19th century. Visitors can climb to the base of the lighthouse for sweeping views of Playa San Francisco, Playa Grande, and the open ocean. The headland's rugged terrain is dotted with tide pools and native vegetation, making it a great spot for photography and nature walks. The contrast of red rocks against blue water creates a memorable landscape.
