Thankful for my best friend that introduced me to Georgian food, and this is one of the places that's worth checking out. Had a great lunch with friends. The khinkhali (dumplings), khachapuri (bread boat with egg and cheese in the middle) are the 2 must dishes to get. Two stars down for the service... Our server didn't put in 2 orders of the boat bread like we wanted and didn't refill the water (their water container is really small and 4 people drink fast). Otherwise the food was delicious and the interior is lovely.
I'm still thinking about this delicious meal and delightful service. This space was beautiful and elegant, great atmosphere and Georgian lofi music. Servers were delighted to share their food and culture with us- I felt privileged to be there. We had the salmon, mushrooms stuffed with cheese, and chicken. Exquisite flavor that was complex and perfectly executed. The plum sauce is out of this world!
We went to DEDIKo to recall a trip we took to Georgia and were pleased to find ourselves transported back to the Caucasus. The meal was not only authentic but as good as—if not better than—the meals we enjoyed on our trip. The space is small but attractive and comfortable, the service cordial and attentive. It has the feel of a family restaurant. The mtsvadi and kababi were excellent. We recommend them with the potatoes, not the salad. (The salad is fine, just not unique.) The dishes were presented artfully. Some of the items are not as good a value as others ($3 for four small strips of bread), but on the whole the upscale (for Vancouver) prices reflect the quality and quantity of the food.
My family regularly journeys from Portland to dine at Dediko and it is always a treat. It is family-run, everything is homemade, service is very friendly, and the food is wonderful. We particularly recommend the succulent pork dishes, Georgian dips, and the fresh khachapuri (cheese breads). During covid, it has charming outdoor seating.
