Bridal Veil Falls is the tallest free-falling waterfall in Colorado, plunging 365 feet down a sheer cliff face. Located east of Telluride, it is a popular destination for hikers and off-road enthusiasts. The trail follows an old road past the historic Pandora Mill to the base of the falls, where mist and rainbows often form. For a closer view, a challenging hike continues to the top, offering panoramic views of the valley. The falls are especially dramatic in late spring and early summer when snowmelt peaks.

Don't miss

  • Hike the 4.5-mile round-trip trail to the base of the falls for an up-close view.
  • Drive or take a guided off-road tour on the rough road to the falls (high clearance required).
  • Photograph the falls from the viewpoint near the old power plant at the base.
