Napatree Point is a 1.5-mile sandy spit extending into Block Island Sound, forming a protected wildlife refuge. Accessible only on foot, it's a popular spot for walking, birdwatching, and photography. The beach is dotted with seashells and driftwood, and the dunes host piping plovers and other shorebirds. Sunsets here are spectacular, with the sun dipping below the horizon over the water.

Don't miss

  • Walk the entire 1.5-mile spit to the tip for panoramic ocean views
  • Spot piping plovers and least terns in the protected dune habitat
  • Watch the sunset from the western end of the beach
