If you’re looking for fantastic Peruvian food, this place won’t disappoint. The food is incredible, with fresh, vibrant flavors and thoughtful preparation. The ceviche is perfectly balanced, with tender, fresh grouper. Their chicken Milanese stands out—it’s crunchy, juicy, and paired with a creamy, flavorful rice. The pork chops, with a unique sauce and smooth chickpea paste, are equally impressive. Don’t skip the house-made sauces if you can handle the spice—they’re bold and fresh. While the servers are friendly, service can be slower than you might hope. That said, the generous family-style portions make it worth the wait, and the prices reflect the quality and size. With a great atmosphere and plenty of parking, it’s ideal for big groups or family dinners.
Maty’s is amazing. We went there for a birthday dinner and had a great time. The size of the restaurant makes it easy to book but also opens it up to kids, which is a downside. There were a few crying babies around. The waiters were friendly, warm and nice. The raw and vegetable menu was our favorite. While the main menu was good, it wasn’t as punchy as the others. Huge props to the crudo, cauliflower and sweet potato dessert!
Nice space, good vibe. Interesting but small menu which staff knew well. Tiny wine list on menu- not clear if there were other options, but selections seemed tailored to the menu options nicely. White wines by the glass were good. Pisco sour was good. Quality of the ingredients and skill in preparation were excellent and readily evident. But all the food was massively oversalted for our taste. It was not enjoyable. It was hard to taste anything other than salt. Disappointing as it had an excellent write up in the NYT Best restaurants of 2023, and was relatively expensive. Service was slow- especially so given 20% gratuity added to bill automatically. Won’t return.
NOISY, PRICEY, UNREMARKABLE. This is an awful place to eat as the food is fussy and pretentious and way over priced. Many of the dishes we ordered tasted primarily of lime juice. The dining room has a very loud ambient music system.
