Minaret Summit is a high-elevation viewpoint along the Mammoth Scenic Loop, providing one of the most iconic vistas in the Sierra Nevada. From here, visitors can gaze across the Ritter Range, with the sharp, spired peaks of the Minarets rising dramatically above the forest. The summit also offers a glimpse of the San Joaquin River Gorge and the distant Sierra crest. It's a popular stop for photographers, especially at sunrise and sunset, and serves as a trailhead for hikes into the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Interpretive signs explain the area's geology and history.
