Super fast, very delicious, excellent price and quality. I can't express how quick this came out; it's really been turned into a science. The sandwich was wonderful -- could probably be slightly more flavorful (we would likely get the hot peppers instead of sweet next time). Fries were good but nothing special. Worth knowing: cash only; outdoor seating only.
They don’t make em like this anymore. Everything from the food, price, service, and overall vibe of the restaurant was on point. Johnnie’s has true integrity and does not compromise. They stay true to themselves, and even with all of the popularity and attention they’ve received, they aren’t raising the prices which you gotta respect. This was the best Italian beef I’ve ever had by far. French fries were also incredible. Couldn’t recommend this place enough for a true Chicago experience.
Fast, delicious, good value. Don’t be turned off by the line, it moves quickly. We got the hot dipped and the sweet wet. The lemon ice was a must with the hot!
I’ve been to quite a few places around the city, and from what I’ve tried this is the best in Chicago. The meat is perfectly seasoned bursting with flavor. Getting it wet, meat is moist and tender. Even the bread is flavorful. Sorry Al but Johnnie gets the win this time.
