Finally got a chance to try Superica at Krog. Every time we pass by and inquire on the wait, it’s typically over 45 min. This time was the same, but decided to wait. I’d say this is a typical Mexican restaurant, nothing super remarkable to want us to wait 45 minutes. Not that it was bad, just not worth such a long wait. Perhaps come during non busy hours! I had the 3-taco dinner with refried beans (no cheese). They were good about noting dietary allergies and accommodating. I had the watermelon margarita without alcohol (only complaint is they charge the exact same amount as the one with alcohol, which sucks). We loved the complimentary chips and salsa. Chips are crisp and warm, and the (2) salsa options taste fresh! My husband had the nachos which aren’t your typical piled high stack of chips with toppings. But it still filled him up. Overall I do still recommend this place, I’d just come back not at 7pm on a Saturday, to try to have a shorter wait. They do have a waitlist you can join online (which we did do), but still had a 35 min wait once we arrived (when online, initial wait said 35-40, it ended to being 55-65 min).
I just knew in my heart this was going to be just an ok restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised! Their food was delicious! I had the flautas and had their salsa verde and another sauce on top. They had a great portion size. I forgot what my friends had but I took a pic and they loved it. I had the tres leches cake but I was confused as to why there was a lot of milk at the bottom. Nonetheless it was pretty good. I can’t wait to go back. I forgot the servers name but she was awesome!!!
Yikes. What happened to this restaurant? We are in the food industry and loved coming here on prior trips to the ATL. This will be our last visit. Awful service, hours for the entrees, forgotten orders, watered down drinks without ingredients. The queso is still solid but they clearly have become comfortable etc.
This has always been one of our favorite restaurants but this night it was a little off. We had eaten here in late April and it was fabulous…everything popping with flavor. The chips and salsas are truly among the best and we consistently enjoy them. In fact, the salsas are actually richer and better than they used to be. But, last night (in June), we returned and I again had the shrimp tacos(spicy) and my husband had the enchiladas with steak. My shrimp tacos tasted totally different from when we visited in April. They lacked the rich flavors that had made them such a standout entree earlier. The corn tacos were somewhat jumbled and hard to sort out with the fillings and toppings plopped on top….poor presentation. My husband’s enchilada reminded him of a cheeseburger with cheese and steak and was also poorly presented. In the past, he has had the chili poblano which has been excellent and maybe that still is. Normally we have to wait in line but on this Saturday night there was no wait. I hope this was an exception or off evening for this fine Tex-mex restaurant. The inconsistency in quality, presentation, and service for a moderately priced dinner makes one wonder. We still very much hope to return and find the same excellent quality and service we were used to for many years.
