Now, let me say that I visited this place off of reviews from Google! The was first time going and the service was good. Amanda, I think that was our server name. We asked for food suggestions, and she did well. We ordered the pigs in a blanket.. very good 1/2 dozen oysters... delicious! The NY Strip steak was not it.. I don't think it was a NY strip steak! It was cooked well, which we ordered medium. Had to send it back, and it took 20 minutes before we got the other steak, which again was not a NY Strip 🤦🏾♀️! We ordered their Beef fries on the side, which were good, just salty!! And we ordered Creme burlee.. that was good as well. 2 glasses of red wine 6oz and a 9oz pour. Grand total 140.00.. This is the kicker... An older couple walked by and said they cooked that steak too long!🤦🏾♀️🙄. So first time and last.
Impossible to pick a favorite dish here since everything we had was amazing. I believe you first eat with your eyes, and each plate was a work of art. There were familiar things on the menu, such as crab salad, roasted chicken, steak frites, to fancier things like snow crab, oyster, and foie gras. A friend had the cacio e pepe while I had the pappardelle with lamb. Both were amazingly cooked. The staff gave a short spiel about the chef, and we were lucky enough to get a short visit from the chef himself. The chef spent some time in France and it definitely showed in the food, but he mostly wanted to showcase Southern ingredients. Besides the food, the atmosphere was very pleasant. The restaurant was well-lit, music was not too loud, and it felt spacious inside. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience dining here.
We had such an incredible experience here. From the food to the service, it was one of the best dinners we had in a long time. We were able to sit at the bar as soon as we walked in and was greeted by a great bartender. The cocktails were delicious and we shared several items off the menu. Our favorites were the pigs in a blanket and the lobster risotto! This is now one of our favorite spots. We definitely plan on returning and becoming regulars. 100% recommend!
This restaurant can be a bit confusing as I saw from some reviews. We went based on the menu and the amazingly quick and helpful feedback from the chef to a query I had about an allergy and their ability to accommodate it. Now as to our experience. I noticed reviewers who had trouble with the pacing (too slow) and unfamiliarity with the ingredients listed on the menu. First, it's a lovely new place with very comfortable booths. Second, but most important, it's one of the best menus and some of the best food we've had in Atlanta, more modestly priced than other restaurants with comparable food. Also, creative and delicious cocktails, knowledgable and responsive service. We will be back and spread the word. Here's the confusion - it feels like a place you go in for a quick meal, maybe bring the kids. It's not, but loud music makes for a vibe that's not fine dining. This is fine dining and with that you don't want to be out in an hour or less. Maybe they feel this area can't draw enough with a fine dining concept. Our view was cocktails are great, service was knowledgable and well-paced, accommodated gluten-free for celiac, superb food, inexpensive wine list. If this were in Buckhead, and there was a better wine list, they could charge at least 50% more for the mains. I did notice they have a really nice bar menu so people who want a quicker experience might try that.
