I’m visiting from out of town, and my partner’s family insisted that the “south of the border” wraps from here were a “can’t miss” meal. I was skeptical because I’m not vegan and like, kale is kale? How good can it be? The answer is “shockingly good”, and also very filling. The portions are huge (we used 3 full-size wraps to feed lunch to 6 adults). Everyone was so friendly at pickup! TLDR: had an excellent experience. The food tastes great and the portions are generous. Would recommend ordering ahead, just for convenience, but the place is very cute, and service was excellent. Will be returning.
If I am ever in the Atlanta area this is where I will go! Good customer service, I love the atmosphere, and everyone is knowledgeable about ingredients. I love that they offer healthy drinks like organic coconut water and sorrel. I also really enjoy the grab and go section that’s offered. One thing I would note for my die hard raw foodist is that not everything is raw but you CAN make it fully raw by switching out the wrap for nori sheets, ask for no mayo, and no nutritional yeast. This isn’t something I would mark stars down for because even though it’s not technically “fully raw” the food is outstanding and still packed with raw ingredients. Big flavor and seriously worth every penny! I wish everyone gets a chance to enjoy the food here and the vibe. I will most definitely be bringing my friends and family here every chance I get!!! Thank you for offering healthier options and for creating a communal space for everyone to come to and get nourished
I’ve long known about the hype (atleast within vegan circles). Finally tried it; ordered through a food delivery app and each time the order arrived surprisingly fast. I tried the big yoshi wrap, carrot tuna, and a plate with spinach, rice & plantain. Overall the food tasted pretty good, but like another commenter wrote, it was all just a little too rich (too sweet, salty, umami, etc). I also noticed some inconsistencies, the same order taste a little different each time. The Yoshi wrap was loaded with artificial bacon bits 🥓 which seemed unnecessary from both a health & taste standpoint. Like, BACON whyyy? who asked for that??? 🤯 If you’re new and want to explore some unique vegan options, this is for you. If you’re a real deal ‘health nut’. This might not be it. The core ingredients are healthy whole-foods, but it seems they use a generous amount of soy, nutritional yeast, and other additives to make it taste good. Also the standard wraps are made of wheat & contain gluten (though you can sub Nori seaweed wrap) If you’re looking for Sebi approved type dishes, this does not hit the mark.
My experience with this establishment has usually been very good. But, I was extremely disappointed today! I had driven over 30 minutes and was anticipating a delicious kale wrap. I had my heart set on one and my mouth was salivating. I checked the time to make sure I would arrive before closing. The website stated they close at 9 PM on Saturdays. I arrived just before 8 PM with what I thought was sufficient time to order. Upon entering Tassili’s I was told by the cashier they had stopped taking new orders. My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing... I told the cashier I had just driven 30 minutes and I had checked the website and there was no mention of an early closing. The cashier told me that they were short staffed and completing orders that had already been placed. He further commented, “I’m getting out of here today”… which in my opinion is not a reason to stop serving people… because you want to get out on time. The woman in back of me said this is the second day in a row she arrived and was told they were no longer taking orders. She said, “this is why I no longer frequent such establishments.” I asked to speak to the owner and was told she was not on site. I sincerely hope Tassili’s Raw Reality choosing to stop taking orders prior to closing does not become an ongoing pattern. As this establishment will surely lose business. This is a black-owned establishment. I take pride in supporting our brothers and sisters. But, today I am very disappointed. Unsatisfied Customer
