Smallhythe Place is a 16th-century half-timbered house that was the country retreat of famed Victorian actress Ellen Terry. Now a National Trust museum, it preserves her personal collection of costumes, props, and memorabilia. Visitors can tour the intimate rooms, wander the cottage garden, and see the nearby barn theatre where Terry staged performances. The house offers a unique glimpse into the life of a theatrical star and the history of the building itself.
