St Michael's Mount is a dramatic tidal island rising from Mount's Bay, connected to the mainland by a granite causeway. Visitors can explore the medieval castle, home to the St Aubyn family for centuries, with its armor, tapestries, and rooftop views. The island also features a 12th-century church, subtropical gardens, and a harbor with shops and cafes. At low tide, you can walk across the cobbled causeway; at high tide, take a short boat ride from Marazion. The mount's silhouette is one of Cornwall's most photographed sights.

Don't miss

  • Walk across the granite causeway at low tide, following the path pilgrims once used.
  • Tour the medieval castle with its armor, paintings, and rooftop views of the bay.
  • Explore the subtropical terraced gardens, home to exotic plants and a lily pond.
