Carn Euny is an Iron Age and Romano-British village managed by English Heritage, featuring stone house foundations, courtyards, and a superb fogou – a stone-lined underground passage with a corbelled roof. The fogou's original function remains mysterious, possibly for storage or ritual. Visitors can explore the excavated huts and descend into the cool, dark passage, imagining life 2,000 years ago. The site sits in a quiet valley with views of the surrounding countryside.

Don't miss

  • Enter the fogou and experience its eerie, echoing acoustics.
  • Examine the stone house foundations and imagine daily Iron Age life.
  • Look for the 'creep' – a narrow side passage in the fogou.
