Cozy atmosphere. Very friendly staff who take her time to explain the menu, and always come to check on us with big smile. Food was good, enjoyed the mushroom risotto and the pumpkin thingy (forgot the name sorry) which the pumpkin was richly marinated. However, the pastry is still the best. Got myself some when I left. The Apple crumble Danish was heavenly good even reheat it when I got home. The layers and rich of texture, is something I’d missed from time to time. The pear turnover was good too!
Some of the best Italian food I’ve had in London and in such a beautiful setting. We had such a hard time choosing dishes as the entire menu was excellent. Every pasta dish was fresh and flavoursome, and the chocolate ganache was the perfect end. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, returning the cider that my Dad wasn’t keen on, insisting she wanted him to enjoy his drink. The restaurant host also moved us from bar seating to table seating so I was more comfortable, even though I’d knowingly booked the bar. So impressed and wish I’d come sooner! Will definitely be back!
As a local I thought I would try Jolene for coffee and a pastry. Mistake- firstly they have a strange system where you have to queue outside to order ( even if you are planning on eating in). You take a plate if eating in and try to identify the pastries - signs are difficult to read in the lighting and some turned the wrong way. I chose a plain croissant. I then had the audacity to ask for some butter. Response” we don’t do butter “. I pointed out the baked goods and breads and asked if they could honestly tell me there was no butter. After much sighing on behalf of the staff she agreed to “ try to find some butter” and I took my seat. Waited so long for my coffee that I thought I must have got the system wrong. When it did arrive - it was tepid and weak. The croissant was average but having to argue for a small piece of butter took the joy out of it. I only wonder what horror I may have evoked should I have asked for jam!! Sterile cold atmosphere- lots of laptops. Felt more like a rented office space. I didn’t linger - and I won’t be back. There are much better places very close by so my advice is take your custom there
Very nice place to get a brunch. Food was really good, coffee was also great, and waiters welcoming. I can only recommend if you like good food !
