Conwy's town walls are among the finest and most complete medieval fortifications in Europe, built between 1283 and 1287 under King Edward I. The walls stretch for about 1.3 kilometres (0.8 miles) and include 21 towers and three original gateways. Visitors can walk along the entire circuit, which offers excellent views of Conwy Castle, the harbour, and the surrounding countryside. The walls are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and provide a tangible connection to the town's medieval past. The walk is mostly level and accessible, with information panels along the route.

Don't miss

  • Walk the full circuit of the walls for panoramic views of Conwy and the estuary.
  • Explore the medieval towers and gateways, including the Mill Gate and Upper Gate.
  • Combine with a visit to Conwy Castle, which is integrated into the wall system.
