The Conwy Suspension Bridge, completed in 1826, is one of the earliest road suspension bridges in the world, designed by the renowned engineer Thomas Telford. Now owned by the National Trust and open only to pedestrians, it provides a charming walk across the River Conwy, with views of the medieval Conwy Castle and the modern road bridge. The bridge's original stone towers and chain cables are beautifully preserved, and visitors can walk from the town side to the west bank, enjoying a unique perspective of the estuary.

Don't miss

  • Walk across the bridge for close-up views of the original stone towers and wrought-iron chains.
  • Photograph the bridge with Conwy Castle as a backdrop, especially at sunset.
  • Cross to the west bank for a peaceful riverside stroll away from the town centre.
