The Ballachulish Bridge is a striking steel-and-concrete structure that spans the narrows of Loch Leven, connecting the villages of Ballachulish and North Ballachulish. Opened in 1975, it replaced the old ferry service and now forms a vital part of the A82 road through the Highlands. The bridge provides drivers with sweeping views of the loch, the surrounding mountains, and the distant Glencoe peaks. Pedestrians can also cross via a footpath to take in the scenery. It's a popular spot for photographers, especially at sunrise or sunset when the light enhances the landscape.

Don't miss

  • Drive or walk across the bridge for panoramic views of Loch Leven and Glencoe.
  • Photograph the bridge at golden hour with reflections on the water.
  • Watch for boats and wildlife in the waters below from the bridge's footpath.
