Allan Bank, a National Trust property in Grasmere, offers a unique glimpse into the life of poet William Wordsworth, who lived here from 1808 to 1811. Unlike many historic houses, the interior is unfurnished, allowing visitors to focus on the atmosphere and the ever-changing art exhibitions. The real draw, however, is the garden and the breathtaking views across Grasmere lake and the fells.
