The Ohio Company Land Office is a small, historic log building in Marietta, Ohio, that served as the sales office for land in the Northwest Territory beginning in 1788. Today, it operates as a museum, preserving the original desk and documents used by the Ohio Company agents. Visitors can see the actual survey maps and land grants that shaped the settlement of the region, and learn about the process of purchasing land in the early republic. The building itself is a rare surviving example of 18th-century frontier architecture.
