Edge NYC is the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere, perched 1,131 feet above the Hudson Yards neighborhood. Visitors step onto a triangular, glass-floored platform that extends 80 feet from the building, providing a thrilling perspective of the city streets below. The deck wraps around the 100th floor, offering unobstructed panoramas of the Manhattan skyline, the Hudson River, and beyond. Inside, the Champagne bar serves drinks with a view, while the outdoor section features angled glass walls that lean outward, allowing you to lean over the city. The experience is designed to feel like floating above New York, with reflective surfaces and open-air access that make it distinct from other observatories. It's particularly striking at sunset when the city lights begin to twinkle.

Don't miss

  • Walk on the glass-floor skyline step for a vertigo-inducing view straight down

A bit of history

Edge opened in March 2020 as part of the Hudson Yards development, a massive real estate project on Manhattan's West Side. The deck was engineered by Kohn Pedersen Fox and designed to maximize views with its cantilevered platform, a first for New York City observatories.
