Downtown Container Park is one of the most distinctive corners of Las Vegas, an open-air shopping, dining, and entertainment complex built almost entirely out of repurposed shipping containers and modular cubes, in the revitalised Fresh district of downtown (away from the Strip). A creative, community-minded space, it's home to a quirky mix of local boutiques, eateries, bars, and a central treehouse-style play structure and slide for kids. By night it becomes a lively entertainment hub with live music on its stage. Its most famous feature, out front, is 'Big Edna', a towering, fire-breathing praying mantis sculpture (a former Burning Man artwork) that shoots flames on the hour after dark.

It captures the creative, independent spirit of the downtown Las Vegas revival, a refreshing contrast to the mega-resorts of the Strip. Family-friendly by day (note an evening age policy may apply later), it's free to enter, with shopping, food, and drinks as you go. Stop by after dark to catch the fire-breathing mantis.
