USS Texas (BB-35) is a retired New York-class battleship that saw action in both World War I and World War II. Now permanently docked near the San Jacinto Monument, it serves as a museum where visitors can explore the ship's decks, engine rooms, and living quarters. Highlights include the massive 14-inch guns, the bridge, and exhibits on the crew's daily life. As one of the last surviving dreadnoughts, it offers a tangible link to naval history. The ship is undergoing restoration, so some areas may be closed.

Don't miss

  • Stand on the main deck and see the massive 14-inch gun turrets.
  • Climb into the engine room to see the ship's original machinery.
  • Visit the captain's quarters and crew mess for a glimpse of life aboard.
