The Balinese Room was Galveston's most glamorous nightspot, stretching 600 feet over the Gulf on a pier. Built in the 1920s, it became famous for its exotic décor and lineup of big bands and celebrities. Though a fire destroyed the original structure in 2008, the site remains a symbol of Galveston's vibrant entertainment history. Visitors can view the remaining pier and imagine the era when the island was a hotspot for stars and socialites.
