Zennor Quoit is a striking Neolithic burial chamber, distinguished by its enormous capstone, one of the largest in Cornwall, resting on three upright stones. Located just outside the village of Zennor, the quoit stands in a field with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The structure is partially collapsed, with the capstone tilted, but its scale and setting make it an impressive sight. Visitors can walk around the monument, touch the ancient stones, and reflect on its 5,000-year history. The site is easily accessible and often less crowded than other megalithic sites in the region.

Don't miss

  • Photograph the massive capstone, estimated to weigh over 10 tons, and see how it balances on the uprights.
  • Explore the surrounding moorland, dotted with wildflowers and grazing sheep, for a quintessential Cornish experience.
  • Visit the nearby village of Zennor, with its historic church and pub, to round out your trip.
