The Montefiore Synagogue, located in Ramsgate, was built in 1833 by the renowned philanthropist Sir Moses Montefiore on his private estate. This Grade I listed building is a stunning example of Regency architecture with a distinctive Italianate style. Visitors can see the beautifully preserved interior, including the Ark and bimah, and explore the adjoining mausoleum where Montefiore and his wife are buried. The site offers insight into 19th-century Jewish life and Montefiore's legacy.
