Bleak House is a grand Georgian mansion perched on the cliffs of Broadstairs, named after Dickens's novel though he never owned it. He wrote 'David Copperfield' here during summer stays. Today, visitors can tour the house, see Dickens-related exhibits, and climb the tower for breathtaking views of the English Channel. The building also houses a museum of smuggling history and a café.

Don't miss

  • Ascend the tower for 360-degree views of the coastline and Viking Bay.
  • Browse the smuggling museum in the cellars, detailing local maritime history.
  • View the room where Dickens wrote, with period furnishings and personal items.
