Balgay Park is a large public park on a hillside west of Dundee city centre, featuring mature woodlands, a scenic pond, and the Mills Observatory, the only full-time public observatory in the UK. Visitors can stroll through the wooded paths, feed ducks at the pond, or climb to the observatory for stunning views of the Tay estuary and beyond. The park also has a children's play area and plenty of open space for picnics. Its elevated position makes it a favourite for sunset walks.
Don't miss
- Visit the Mills Observatory to see telescopes and learn about astronomy (open seasonally).
- Walk the woodland trails and spot wildlife like squirrels and birds.
- Enjoy panoramic views of the River Tay and the city from the observatory hilltop.
