Carpathian National Nature Park, established in 1980, is Ukraine's first and one of its largest protected areas, spanning over 50,000 hectares of ancient beech forests, alpine meadows, and rushing streams near Yaremche. Visitors can hike well-marked trails through diverse ecosystems, from lowland river valleys to the high Chornohora range, spotting rare flora such as edelweiss and fauna including Carpathian deer, wild boars, and golden eagles. The park's information center in Yaremche provides maps and guided tours, making it accessible for both day-trippers and multi-day trekkers seeking immersion in unspoiled mountain wilderness.
