The Cathedral of Kars, originally the Church of the Holy Apostles, is a remarkable example of medieval Armenian architecture. Built in the 10th century under the Bagratid dynasty, its most striking feature is the central dome with a conical roof, supported by a drum with blind arches. The interior, now adapted for use as a mosque, retains traces of its Christian past, including fragments of frescoes. Visitors can admire the harmonious proportions, the stone carvings, and the serene atmosphere that bridges two faiths. The cathedral stands as a symbol of Kars' layered history.
