The National Theatre of Tunisia, also known as Théâtre National Tunisien, is the country's flagship performing arts institution. Founded in 1988, it is housed in a contemporary building in the Halfaouine district, close to the Medina. The theater focuses on producing and hosting original Tunisian and Arab plays, often addressing social and political themes. Its main hall seats around 800 people and features state-of-the-art acoustics and lighting.
