Sukhothai Historical Park preserves the remains of the 13th- and 14th-century capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can wander among dozens of temple ruins, including the iconic Wat Mahathat with its seated Buddha, and the massive lotus-bud chedi of Wat Si Chum. The park is divided into central, northern, southern, eastern, and western zones, accessible by bicycle or foot. The serene atmosphere, especially at sunrise or sunset, makes it a highlight of Thai historical tourism.
