Khaan

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is warm, and the staff provide excellent service with bright and cheerful smiles at all times. I really like how each dish is served continuously without having to wait too long for the next one. Every dish is served hot. However, the parking space is quite limited; there’s space for two cars in front of the shop and about eight more spots next to the shop, which are shared with other businesses.

An amazing culinary experience to try a variety of Thai cuisine that I, as a tourist, may not necessarily be exposed to. The food and service was great, which really made up for the atmosphere that was pretty much made terrible when a large, unaware group seemed to disregard the other guests dining at the restaurant. The Khaan team do take huge pride in the food and culture that they are sharing, and I really appreciate the experience overall.

Recently, I had the pleasure of trying KHAAN, a Michelin-recommended Thai fine dining restaurant. I have been to some amazing fine dining restaurants here in Bangkok, so I definitely had high expectations of KHAAN. This restaurant is only a 9 minute walk from the Chit Lom BTS station, making it a very easily accessible place. An eye-pleasing exterior with well thought out colors and architecture, made me more excited to go inside and check it out. As soon as I stepped inside i was greeted by the front desk and the rest of the staff welcoming me in. I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly environment that the staff had created, and what it made even better was the fact that they were fluent in english, and that is something which is not easy to come across in Bangkok. Being able to talk with staff and to easily understand their explanations about what their restaurant is about, how they created each dish, as well as the inspiration for those dishes, made my night there extremely pleasant. At KHAAN I was able to experience Chef Aom’s brilliant 11-course meal (3,850 THB++), which is a blend of Traditional Thai cuisine and new cooking techniques. As I got seated, I was able to tell instantly at how well they have organized this place, no matter how full the restaurant is there will always be space to move around, removing that cramped feeling you get usually from other fine dining restaurants. After I got seated, the staff had brought out the first course for me, which was one of the most eye catching appetizers ive seen, and it definitely whet my appetite for the following dishes. For each dish that came out the staff had explained the origins of that dish and the preparation process of it so well, paying respects to the people of Thailand that play a huge part in their culture. Some of the dishes that I really enjoyed were the Lamb Shank with Basmati rice and Bumbai curry, The Hokkaido Scallops with Green Mussel Juice, and the Rice Paddy Crab with Sticky rice. Although these were my favorites, the entire menu was such a unique experience that tasted so incredible and high quality, and adding that on to the friendly and easy going environment which the staff had created made for a complete 10/10 time which is worth every penny! Would highly recommend visiting whenever you are in Bangkok!
