Heard about this place for a while and decided to give it a try. Wasn’t impressed that they served our welcome drinks at a table in Lord Jim’s during staff training in there that went on quite loudly. Then we got to the restaurant where the atmosphere was much better. Kaiseki dinner and sake were great. High quality ingredients and all the dishes were so tasty and complex. The head chef can speak English fluently and very friendly.
Great dining experience at Mandarin Oriental Kinu by Takagi. It's a 10 course omakase menu. We paired 6 types of perfectly selected Sake to complement our meal. Chef was friendly and every dish was prepared with lot of passion and love. 3 different types of Caviar was served. Every dish was well presented and delicious. Great intimate ambiance. Good service. Highly recommended
We had lunch there and the food was overall great, but it was a bit expensive compared to what we got. It is definitely not a must-go place. But if you don't have time and just want to have lunch in the hotel, this was an okay one.
It's not something you do every week/month but do treat yourself & guests to a Kaizeki dinner here. Superb! I don't understand why this gem isn't booked out weeks in advance. A feast for they eyes becomes a culinary experience bar none. A crew of 3 working behind the small counter wowed us. No pretensions whatsoever: you can chat with them while you marvel at the seamless efficiency producing the dishes . Does it cost money? Yes, but compared to similar culinary experiences at this level - you pick the cuisine you want - it is very reasonable and far more of an experience. Go and enjoy yourself!
